James C. D. Wahls - President
While in law school and in between reading wordy treatises, watching Big Ten sports, and playing basketball, James founded DetroitIntern.com, LLC, the holding company of the DetroitIntern Network, to connect students to employers in Southeastern Michigan and surrounding regions. He and Tarik Green realized the importance of this resource and moved to create the present, national DetroitIntern Network.
A native Detroiter, James currently practices public finance and municipal law at a law firm in Detroit, Michigan. He is a graduate of University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy, the University of Michigan, and the University of Michigan Law School.
Tarik B. Green - Director of Marketing & Community Relations
A native Detroiter and graduate of the Cass Technical High School, the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, and Henry Ford Community College, Tarik developed an interest in business because of his early involvement with his family owned non-profit, trade School – The Michigan Barber School, Inc.
Upon graduation from college, Tarik returned to The Michigan Barber School, where he eventually served as the manager, assisting in identifying ways in which the school could cut costs, maintaining student attendance, and implementing grass-roots marketing strategies that involved networking with organizations and participating in local events in order to increase the Barber School’s exposure.
Tarik draws from knowledge that he gained from serving as manager at the Michigan Barber School and experiences at the University of Michigan working as a Student Mentor and Tutor for programs such as POSSE (Pathways to Student Success Excellence), and KCP’s (King, Chavez, Parks) College Days and Out Reach programs.
